Donna Gupton is Vice President of Talent Development at AARP, since joining AARP in 2015; she has architected a Talent Strategy for its over 2,500 employees. AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, social welfare organization with a membership of nearly 38 million that helps people turn their goals and dreams into real possibilities, strengthens communities and fights for the issues that matter most to families — such as health care, employment, and income security, and protection from financial abuse. Donna is responsible for all aspects of Talent Development, Talent Management, Organizational Design, Leadership Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Executive Development and Coaching at AARP. Donna is a strategic, results-driven, Human Resources Professional with over 20+ years’experience, with core expertise in workforce development, change management, performance consulting, organizational development and leadership development. Donna is respected as a collaborative business partner with extensive experience with multibillion-dollar retail companies, non-profits, and financial services companies. As well as, drives positive change with proven track record linking quantitative results to human capital initiatives.
Prior to joining AARP, Donna spent most of her career with Accenture and Lowe’s. She advanced through a variety of leadership positions and was most recently Director of Talent and Leadership Development at Sheetz.
Donna holds a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology from Eckerd College in St Petersburg, FL and a Master of Science, Organization Development from American University in Washington, DC. As well as, numerous certifications, such as Certification of Organization Development from NTL Institute, Korn Ferry’s Leadership Architect, Strategic Effective Architect, and Assessment of Leadership Potential.
